Here are a few restaurant suggestions for Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole, this selection is based on my personal experience and also from guests staying at Treventon:
Chapel Street is the oldest street in Penzance and is arguably the best place to look for restaurants in town. Two Pubs serving food are The Turks Head and The Admiral Benbow, Restaurants: Artist’s Residence
Walking down Chapel Street towards the harbour is The Dolphin Tavern on The Quay, tucked in behind the Dolphin Tavern is the cobbled Barbican Lane housing the Barbican Bistro for my choice of a sea food restaurant in Penzance.
Queens Street runs parallel to Chapel Street and has 45 Queens Street bar and kitchen.
elsewhere in Penzance:
Alverne, Camelot Court, 30 Alverton St
Mermaid Alley, 45 New St.
Thai: Thai Moon (Unit 7, The Wharfside), Sukothai Restaurant (47 Queen St)
Indian: Ministry of Flavour (12-13 Chapel Street), Taj Mahal (63 Daniel Place), Little India (52 Market Jew St.)
Mackerel Sky, Tapas sized fish dishes. Very popular and does not take bookings.
Casa Tapa Tapas Restaurant including good selection of vegan dishes.
The Tolcarne Inn (High End Pub Restaurant)
Argoe Harbour Side seafood restaurant.
Jelberts, just their own vanilla ice cream optionally with clotted cream (recommended) and flake. Eat it Ocean side by the fisherman statue.

The Old Coastguard. By the carpark at the top of the village.
2 Fore Street. On Fore Street by the harbour. On a warm day a takeaway eaten on the harbour wall or suitable rock is bliss, of course accompanied with a takeaway drink from the pub.
The Ship Inn. Harbour side pub & restaurant.
A visit to Cape Cornwall is a must whilst you are in West Penwith. The scenery is stunning whatever the weather – amazing in a storm; idyllic on a balmy summer’s day; tranquil in autumn and a rush of colour in spring as flowers occupy the grassy cliffs.

The most direct route into town is by turning right out of Treventon. At the end of Alexandra Place, follow the path to your left, after about 50m on your left is an entrance to Penlee House gardens. Walk through the gardens, turning right at the first junction towards Penlee House which hosts the art gallery, museum and a café. Continue past Penlee House and out of the main gate, cross over the zebra crossing and continue up the path, at the end of this turn left and then right onto Parade Street past the Acorn Theatre where you will arrive at the town centre.

This is a short walk from Treventon and would make a great start to your visit, taking you along the promenade to the fishing port of Newlyn. Fish from Newlyn are transported across the world but can be bought from the fish shops in the town. No visit here is complete without a visit to Jelbert’s ice cream shop. Only one flavour is available – vanilla – made with Cornish clotted cream, try it with added clotted cream for total indulgence!
